Meditation, do you need it?
I took a Yoga class this last weekend; it has been a minute since I have taken a class. I literally almost starting crying in the middle of the class, not because I was twisting my body in unusual ways, but because I was overcome with a calm, that I haven't felt in awhile. And I just felt like I NEEDED this; you NEED this too! You might not necessarily need Yoga, but you need to take time to just STOP.
Most of us get so caught up in the hustle, that we rarely take that time to just STOP.
In Yoga, some of you may know, at the end of every class they do what is called "Shavasana ". You lay on your back, arms out by your sides, palms up, eyes closed, you just breath, and meditate, focusing on your breath. This was my favorite part of the class.
Shavasana decreases heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension and general levels of anxiety. It increases energy levels, boosts memory and stimulates the ability to concentrate. It gives you a more easy sleep and brings a general sense of well-being. And everyone can do it.

HOW TO MEDITATE
- Sit or lie comfortably.
- Close your eyes.
- Make no effort to control the breath; simply breathe naturally.
- Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation. If your mind wanders, return your focus back to your breath.
Find a quiet place, heck, for some of us, that might only be in the car outside the house or in the bathroom. But regardless, make the time to meditate!
